Profile:
With over 35 years of experience working within Indigenous communities, Michael
McGee has been dedicated to the fields of economic development, business
development, and band administration. Committed to supporting and empowering
Indigenous communities and businesses to achieve their highest economic
development goals, Michael has been a member of CANDO for 26 years. He obtained
the Technician Aboriginal Economic Developer (TAED) designation in 1998,
followed by the Professional Aboriginal Economic Developer (PAED) designation in
2008. He also holds both the Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator
(CAPA) and Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designations from AFOA.
Additionally, Michael has achieved the Certified Economic Developer Fellowship
Designation Ec.D(F) from the Economic Developers Association of Canada, holds a
Master's in Business Administration (MBA), and is an active member of several
professional associations. As of 2024, Michael was the first of five individuals
in BC to receive the newly established Certified Economic Development
Professional of British Columbia (CEDP.BC) designation from the British Columbia
Economic Development Association.
